Dr Peta-Joanne Derham joined the Murray-Darling Basin Authority (MDBA) in May 2012 and is currently Acting General Manager, Ecohydrology Analysis Branch. The Branch is responsible for environmental monitoring and evaluation, and for providing ecological science and model-based advice to support the implementation of the Basin Plan.

Peta has contributed to the development and implementation of the Basin Plan since 2009 on behalf of the Commonwealth (SEWPaC and the MDBA). Peta has considerable experience in natural resource management issues from her time with both the NSW and Queensland governments.
